Kitty

I want to thank each of you for the wonderful love that you sent to me that sad day when "Kitty" crossed the rainbow. That day is one of the saddest of my life, I phoned the vet at midmorning as we agreed last night to get the results of the health of the kitten and I knew who died of the complication of the heart and lungs. After the call I send a taxi to take the cat from the veterinary clinic and bring me to my house (they are about 5 km away) While waiting for the taxi, I began to dig the grave with a pick and a shovel. It is horrible to dig a hole crying, the tears would not let me see. Then got a cotton cloth and "a string of copper that God is always with her." It was terrible to receive a box with my "little princess." I remove it from the box, I put the rosary on the neck and wrapped her tiny body with cotton cloth. I'll never forget her face, she had an expression of pain!Take her body into the grave and covered with earth using my hands because I felt I should do with great gentleness and sensitivity. Yo quiero agradecer a cada uno de ustedes por el maravilloso cariño que ustedes enviaron a mi ese triste dia cuando " Kitty " cruzo el arco iris. Ese dia es uno de los mas tristes de mi vida :  yo llame por telefono al veterinario a media mañana como acordamos la noche anterior para conocer el resultado de la salud de la gatita y alli supe que murio de la complicacion del corazon y del pulmon. Al finalizar la llamada yo envie un taxi para que llevara a la gata desde la clinica veterinaria y me la trajera a mi la casa ( son unos 5 kilometros de distancia)Mientras esperaba que llegara el taxi, comence a cavar la tumba con un pico y una pala. Es horrible cavar un pozo llorando, las lagrimas no me dejaban ver. Luego consegui una tela de algodon y "un rosario de cobre para que Dios este siempre con ella". Fue terrible recibir una caja con mi "princesita". Yo la retire a ella de la caja ,Yo le coloque el rosario en el cuello y envolvi su pequeño cuerpo con la tela de algodon. Nunca me voy a olvidar su carita, ella tenia una expresion de dolor!
Lleve el cuerpo de ella a la tumba y la cubri con tierra usando mis manos porque yo sentia que debia hacerlo con mucha suavidad y delicadeza. Coloque unos ladrillos encima para asegurarme que su descanso no sea molestado y coloque encima un ramo de flores de color amarilas, que yo misma las recogi del jardin.
Es duro pensar que ella se fue y que nunca mas la volvere a abrazar y a besar, que ya no la volvere a ver caminar al costado de mi ventana...

Today is a very sad day, a few hours ago Kitty suffered a cardiopulmonary complication and died. Spent five days recovering well from the surgery but yesterday afternoon there was a sudden complication. Still do not leave my astonishment to see how any change in a few hours so so sad. Kitty on Tuesday was to be sent home as planned. But yesterday all change on Sunday. My baby went to the other side of the rainbow and no longer suffer more. It was a very affectionate cat and I will miss her a lot, I still seem to see it in my window or sleeping in the garden.

Hoy es un dia muy triste, hace algunas horas Kitty sufrio una complicacion cardiopulmonar y fallecio. Estuvo cinco dias recuperandose muy bien de la cirujía pero ayer por la tarde tuvo una repentina complicacion . Todavia no salgo de mi asombro de ver como en pocas horas todo cambio de manera tan triste. Kitty este martes iba a ser enviada a casa segun lo planificado, pero ayer en el domingo todo cambio. Mi bebe  se fue al otro lado del arco iris y ya no sufre mas. Era una gatita muy cariñosa y la voy a extrañar mucho, todavia me parece verla en mi ventana o durmiendo en el jardin.

Queridos amigos: Kitty  fue operada hace algunas horas y esta muy bien, ya bebe agua ella misma y no necesita recibir suero intravenoso. Me siento muy feliz! Hace un par de minutos atras yo hable con el veterinario y me dijo que la gatita va a estar internada hasta el martes porque necesita de cuidados y curaciones porque la gata  tiene una herida grande debido a la esterilizacion, la extraccion de las cuatro glandulas mamarias derechas y los tumores de la pancita ( kitty es algo dificil de manejar porque es un poco salvaje, por eso el medico prefiere que ella continue internada )
Gracias por todo su amor y sus buenas energias los quiero mucho!

This is Kitty and me

Hello! I'm Tomas and I want to tell you that I have a friend named Kitty who is between 8 and 10 years, she needs you to send all the love and good energy to overcome a very difficult time.
My mom decided to help Kitty because she has a tumor on his tummy. Their rightful owners could not take it, but my mom agreed to pay the costs even though we hardly have money to live.
Today we took her to the doctor and learned that she has several tumors in the mammary glands row, then all that row will remove it and will receive sterilization. Hola! yo soy Tomas y quiero contarles que tengo una amiga llamada Kitty que tiene entre 8 y 10 años, ella necesita que ustedes envien  todo el cariño y las buenas energias para que supere un momento muy dificil.

Mi mama decidio ayudar a Kitty  porque tiene un tumor en la pancita. Sus dueños verdaderos no pudieron hacerse cargo de ella, pero mi mama acepto pagar los gastos a pesar que ya casi no cuenta con dinero para vivir.

Hoy la llevo al doctor y nos enteramos que ella tiene varios tumores en la fila de glandulas mamarias, entonces toda esa fila  se la van a quitar y va a recibir la esterilizacion. Esto solo es la primera parte porque tambien tiene un pequeño tumor de la otra hilera, pero el doctor cree que operando el lado que esta mas grave, él puede salvarla y ver su evolucion, antes de quitarle la otra hilera de mamas.

Yo quiero que Kitty pronto vuelva a casa y que se recupere pronto. Mi mama esta muy triste y tiene mucho miedo pero vamos a esperar que todo salga bien. Envien todo su amor porque la operacion puede ser ahora o mañana por la mañana. Kitty esta ahora internada en la clinica veterinaria. Envien todos sus ronroneos. Gracias por toda su ayuda: besos, abrazos y muchos ronroneos.

PD: Mi mama estuvo un poco ausente de twitter porque ella intento conseguir algun dinero para la operacion, haciendo muchos clicks en publicidades, pero fue una perdida de tiempo.

Este es Neron, es uno de mis 7 gatos, tiene muchas cualidades pero hoy sólo voy a mencionar una de ellas...

No se como funciona, pero él sabe si estoy triste porque empieza a mostrarse de una manera especial, juega , me llama la atencion, hace cosas que distraen y me hace sentir bien.

Hoy tuve un mal día ( digamos que me canse que se burlen de mi de la companía de telefono e internet porque llevo reclamando 3 meses por el mal servicio que me dan, es asqueroso! ...

Rompí a llorar luego de suplicar a 4 operadores que me ayuden...y no conseguí nada.)

Fui al patio a buscar a mi gato y lo lleve a la cama ya que necesitaba recostarme. Neron comenzo a amasar sobre el acolchado igual que un gatito bebe! Luego me dio un masaje en la barriga, y se puso a jugar a perseguir mi mano,  cuando me atrapaba lo hacia con infinita suavidad. Luego dio un par de vueltas, me regalo unos ronroneos, unas cabezaditas suaves y finalmente se acosto.

Yo ya me sentía muchisimo mejor y me dormi unos momentos al su lado mientras oia su ronroneo sanador...

Tomas in his fight for life / Tomas en su lucha por la vida

Tomas, a beautiful cat of about 10 kg, almost 11 years of life, is a very special cat. Here is a part of their life history:

My baby was treated by several doctors, the first predicted he would die at the end of the week (I guess the "Veterinary coward" did not have the balls to tell me that he would not treat the serious condition in which my baby was in that time and feared that the cat died and thus tarnish his reputation (the cat had blocked the urethra, had stopped to urinate and kidneys were badly)).
A neighbor sent me to another place where they could try and after a struggle of nearly three months, he moved forward. At that time, urinary diseases were not well known here where I live and not knowing the cause and source of the problem was to get the poor cat out a week and see it crumble to the next. It was terrible to see him suffer and be afraid of losing. Not to mention the economic difficulties of the time, there was little money and these diseases have a considerable cost depending on the doctor in question can become very expensive. I decided I was going to help as God made me and got help from many hands and slowly moved forward Tomas. All this happened when he was barely a year. The years went by and every so often there is a relapse, due to the formation of crystals in their urine. While I never clear what happens with my cat, these are the opinions of several veterinarians:

For many years ago that I give him a food that has a "ph" special value to prevent crystal formation, but the problem occurs once a year or year and a half, this is the most effective way I found to help be well (in no special food, my baby would collapse within a few days). Thomas is very brave and good, he has never bitten or attacked anyone (being in pain and very ill stand each checkup and probes !!!!!)

Tomas, un hermoso gato de unos 10 kg y casi 11 años de vida, es un gato muy especial . Aquí va una parte de su historia de vida:
Desde muy pequeño él se ha enfrentado en muchas ocasiones a problemas urinarios, los cuales varias veces casi le arrebatan la vida. Mi bebe fue atendido por varios médicos, el primero le vaticinó que moriría al finalizar la semana ( supongo que el "Veterinario cobarde" no tuvo las pelotas para decirme que él no quería tratarlo por el estado grave en el que mi bebe se encontraba ( tenia un blockeo en la uretra, había dejado de orinar y sus riñones estaban mal ) en ese momento y temía que el gato se muriera y en consecuencia ensuciar su reputación) .
Una vecina me envió a otro lugar donde lo pudieron tratar y después de una lucha de casi 3 meses , él salió adelante. En ese tiempo las enfermedades urinarias no eran muy conocidas por aquí donde yo vivo y al no conocer las causas y origen del problema era sacar al pobre gato adelante una semana y verlo derrumbarse a la siguiente. Fue terrible verlo sufrir y tener miedo de perderlo. Y ni hablar de las dificultades económicas de esos momentos, había muy poco dinero y estas enfermedades tienen un costo considerable que dependiendo del medico en cuestión, puede llegar a salir muy caro. Yo decidí que lo iba a ayudarlo como sea y de alguna manera Dios hizo que me llegara ayuda de varias manos y de a poco Tomas salió adelante. Todo esto ocurrió cuando apenas él tenía un año. Los años fueron pasando y cada tanto tiempo hay una recaída, debido a la formación de cristales en su orina. Nunca tuve bien el claro que es lo que ocurre con mi gato, estas son las opiniones de varios veterinarios:

1_ La formacion de cristales en la orina es debido a alimentos de mala calidad.
2_ Este gato tiene una uretra de tamaño pequeño como si fuera un cachorro.
3_ Que tiene predisposición a la formación de cristales.
4_ Que bebe poca agua.
5_ No se sabe de manera exacta el origen real del problema.

Hace años que le doy un alimento que tiene un ph especial que evita que se formen cálculos, pero el problema aparece una vez al año o año y medio, esta es la manera más efectiva que encontré de ayudarlo a estar bien ( sin un alimento especial, mi bebe colapsaría en pocos días). Este alimento lo hace beber bastante y hace que orine un buen charco jejeje!
Tomás es muy valiente y bueno, él jamas ha mordido ni atacado a nadie ( estando dolorido y muy enfermo aguanto cada revisación y sondas !!!!!)
Estoy muy orgullosa de él y le doy Gracias a Dios por cada día que estamos juntos.

Los gatos son maravillosos en cada una de las etapas de sus vidas. Adoptar un gato adulto o adulto mayor es : incorporar a la familia un ser con su carácter formado y establecido. Su conducta es visible a través del primer contacto que se tiene con el animal, si él te hace cariño, se refriega y te acaricia el alma con sus ojitos no tengas dudas que te ha entregado su amor incondicional para toda la vida. Y no te preocupes si tienes otros gatos en la casa, si se mantienen todos esterilizados, (además de solucionado el tema de la procreación) los gatos son mucho mas tranquilos y su nivel de agresividad se ve notablemente reducido. La integración del nuevo integrante debe ser gradual y bajo supervision y de a poco las tensiones grupales se suavizaran.
Brinda la oportunidad de una familia a un gato viejito, rescata de algún refugio o de los que están abandonados en la calle, hay muchos de ellos que sueñan con tener un hogar donde se los quiera, yo sé que ellos no tienen la energía de un gatito bebé, pero al ser más tranquilos debido a su mayoría de edad, van a pasar mucho más tiempo junto a ti, y no va a demandar tantos cuidados como un bebe, que deben ser alimentados varias veces al día. Son la compañía ideal para la persona que esta todo el día fuera de su casa, porque no te causara ningún tipo de roturas ni travesuras mientras no estás. Y cuando llegas al hogar él te esperara levantado para recordarte lo mucho que te ha extrañado ;))

Dedico este humilde post a todos aquellos que abrieron su corazones y sus hogares a los gatos adultos y adultos mayores rescatándolos de la calle y de refugios, muchas gracias a todos ellos por el amor incondicional entregado a cada animal al que le ha dado la oportunidad de tener una vida digna

Este gatuno me recuerda a esos vecinos curiosos que no se pierden ningún detalle de lo que ocurre a su alrededor. Fíjese el detalle de como se estira y acomoda para enterarse con gran dedicación. Con sus manos realiza un gesto muy humano que a lo lejos en su ansiedad acomoda sus manos intentado tocar. Es hermosa como se ve su pancita ;))

Adopta a un gato, dale la oportunidad de tener una familia

Ultimamente cada vez que busco noticias relacionada con gatos, veo gran cantidad vinculadas a la adopción de animales que están alojados en centros de refugio (los cuales están con un número de integrantes elevado tanto de perros como de gatos ) y gente que trabaja muy duro para ocuparse de todos los animales muchas veces usando dinero de su bolsillo.

Me da mucha pena pensar que muchos de esos gatos rescatados de la calle, descienden de gatos que alguna vez tuvieron un hogar, otros son hijos de gatitos abandonados.

Adonde esta el sentido de responsabilidad de la raza humana de condenar a un pobre animal al abandono? A pasar hambre, penurias, reproducirse de manera descontrolada, a sentir frió, un gato débil de hambre no tiene fuerza para cazar! es una condena a una muerte larga y penosa.

Las espectativas de vida de un gato en la calle son mínimas, en un hogar pueden llegar a vivir en promedio unos 15 y algunos hasta 20 años.

Nacer en la calle es muy triste, casi sin ninguna oportunidad.

Cuando le das la oportunidad a un gatito abandonado ( me refiero desde un cachorro hasta un gato adulto ) de ser parte de la familia, te va a dar su cariño ilimitato toda su vida, son eternamente agradecidos.

En todas partes del mundo hay numerosos refugios que se dedican al cuidado de animales que fueron rescatados de la calle, todos ellos se merecen una oportunidad de recibir cariño y te aseguro que te van a dar mucho mas cariño y compañía de la que te imaginas.

No existe límites a la hora de ver el ingenio gatuno para conseguir un buen lugar para descansar sin ser molestado o interrumpido, ni siquiera acariciado por alguna mano traviesa.

Me da un poco de miedo pensar que pueda quedar profundamente dormido y pierda el equilibrio, pero yo se que los gatos siempre duermen con un ojo bien abierto:))
